I see many controversial doctrine interpretations today.  We ministers throw around buzz words such as "We're doing a new thing", "Word Faith", and the likes.  People flock to our churches, Christian centers, conferences, and workshops in astronomical numbers. They dance and party intensely during our emotion-filled praise services and are capable of shouting uncontrollably on command.  Even in smaller congregations, musical equipments costs more than some church houses of past years.  All of this cheerleading and celebrating along with prosperity emphasis is justified by pastors using the scriptures.

But what does it all mean?  Is God really getting the glory from our efforts?  Why are Bible Study Classes and Prayer Services so small? Why, with so many church-goers, are we not a more spiritual community...less tolerant of the sinful things now viewed daily on basic television stations?  Are we distinguishing ourselves from the world by introducing more and more of today's socially accepted behavior into God's worship center?  Is there still a definitive line between the world and the Lord's people?  Are we truly "come out from among them?"

If a sinner does not have to change his/her ways to walk in the light, then what is their motivation or sense of need to accept Jesus?  Why should they feel the need or desire to become born again Christians if they can live the same life?

These questions trouble me as I embark upon Jesus' command to go and make disciples...baptize them...teach them.  I fear that we are methodically removing the Lord from religious practices and introducing emphasis on prosperity and "do your own thing."  After all, isn't the booming economy at the source of our comfortable lifestyle?  NO!

OH, IT IS JESUS!!!

Ministers, be careful lest we forget!

Everyone, seek ye first the kingdom of heaven!
